Dr. Lang earned a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Fredonia, a M.S. in Plant Pathology and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Colorado State University. She currently serves the College of Agricultural Sciences at CSU as Director of Strategic Partnerships where she provides stewardship of external relationships with academic, corporate and non-profit entities. She oversees partnerships that promote advanced research and student success in alignment with the college mission. Prior to this position she spent seven years as a lab and project manager for a large molecular plant pathology at CSU and as a senior scientist at a biofuel start-up company. She continues to conduct her own research in the development of genomics-based diagnostic tools for plant pathogens, the evolution of bacterial pathogenicity, host adaptation and molecular mechanisms of host resistance using rice and corn as model crops.

Paula Mills has 15+ years of experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects in diverse settings. Since joining Colorado State University in 2014, she has led several high-profile initiatives engaging campus, community and industry partners including the university’s successful pursuit of a 2016 Innovation & Economic Prosperity University Designation from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and the CSU Agriculture Innovation Summit series. Her career prior to CSU includes sales and marketing management roles in the consumer packaged goods industry and leadership of entrepreneurial ventures. Mills received her Honors in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is presently pursuing her MBA at Colorado State University.

Originally, from Atwood, Colorado Malia Michel grew up on an farm that raised alfalfa, grass hay, and cattle. She received her undergraduate degrees in Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism and Business Administration with a Corporate Finance Concentration in 2016. As a first generation student, she is proud to have recently finished her Masters in Tourism Management. Since January of 2017, she has been working in the College of Agriculture as an Analyst for the Dean’s Office. Her many job responsibilities encompass project management, event planning, outreach and engagement, research, customer service, and much more. Her agriculture, business and tourism backgrounds give her a wide range of expertise. She is excited to be a part of the office of strategic partnerships and help the college of agriculture foster prosperous relationships in the years to come.
