It’s exciting to announce two major personnel changes at the Agricultural Research, Development and Education Center (ARDEC).
Chris Fryrear will be retiring on June 1st from the University and headed home to the family farm in Haxtun, Colorado. Chris has been a dedicated, accomplished employee at ARDEC for 23 years. He has brought to the University a strong sense of integrity, leadership skills and high expectations as Manager of the ARDEC plant science unit. Please join me in thanking Chris for his many years of exceptional service at CSU and ARDEC.
Karl Whitman has been selected from a national search to replace Chris as Manager of the ARDEC plant science unit. Chris and Karl will work together on this transition between now and June 1.
Karl received his B.S. degree from CSU and has worked at ARDEC over the past 5 years in the plant science unit. He was born and raised on a local dairy farm and is highly skilled in diversified crop and livestock operations. He is strong advocate for research programs and the agricultural industry. He is an exceptional leader and will be an integral member of the ARDEC management team.
