Please see the message below, sent on behalf of Nick Lobejko, CAS Managing Director of Development
I am pleased to announce that Keely Mendicino, ’03, has accepted the position of Director of Development in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Keely has been at Colorado State University for nearly two years where she has served as the Assistant Director of Development for the Department of Athletics with primary focus on raising major gifts for athletics’ capital, scholarship, and program priorities. Prior to joining CSU, Keely spent 11 years in fundraising at United Way of Larimer County, a community based nonprofit focused on poverty reduction, serving the last six years as Vice President of Resource Development.
Her passion for connecting major donors with institutional priorities, genuine approach, and first-hand experience at CSU make her an ideal fit to work with the college’s alumni and stakeholders. She looks forward to contributing to the Ag Family by securing gifts which preserve the heritage of the College, support its incredible students, and ensure CSU’s innovative leadership in providing solutions to global challenges continues.
Keely credits her work ethic and values to the rural communities she has lived in across the west and her Colorado and Wyoming roots. She gives back to the Colorado and campus community by volunteering on the Administrative Professional Council, President’s Commission for Diversity and Inclusion, Women’s Foundation of Colorado, and PVH and MCR Foundation. Keely and her husband Peter Mendicino, ’05, an alumnus of the College of Agricultural Sciences, have two sons, Sid and Leo, and reside in north Fort Collins.
I am excited that Keely will be joining our team in the College of Agricultural Sciences as Director of Development. She not only brings a wealth of fundraising experience, but her time at CSU has helped her incorporate our university’s land-grant mission and culture into her interactions with donors and stakeholders. I would also like to extend a personal thanks to Kris McKay, who led our search committee, and to the members of the search committee who provided invaluable guidance as we moved through the search process.
Please take some time to meet and engage with Keely once she begins transitioning into her new position on June 12.
