Ashlee Davis is the Global Lead for External Affairs on the Global Inclusion & Diversity team at Cargill Inc. In this role she is responsible for developing strategies that position Cargill as a global thought leader in inclusion & diversity, ensuring that Cargill’s external brand and strategic partnerships across more than 70 countries is one consistent with being an “employer of choice” for diverse and underrepresented populations.
Serving as an inclusion and diversity public speaker for several industries including the food, hospitality, agribusiness, STEM, and telecomm sectors, her most notable national presentations are,“Privilege: The Dirty Word that Exists in Every Workplace” and “Why a multigenerational team is the ultimate competitive advantage”.
Prior to Cargill, Ms. Davis served for over 6 years in the Obama Administration both in the White House and as a Presidential Political Appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture where her roles included White House Liaison and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights. She has also served as a law clerk for University Legal Services of Washington D.C. and in 2014 she was recognized as a 100 Black LGBTQ Emerging Leader to Watch.
Ms. Davis’s civic engagement includes serving as a board member of the Metro-Nashville Community Oversight Board, the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association, and Colorado State University’s Corporate Diversity Advisory Council. Ms. Davis earned a B.A. in Politics & Philosophy from the
University of Pittsburgh and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence for the Howard University School of Law. She is a native of Nashville, TN.
