Location

This course will be offered online in a seminar series format. The seminars will be held every Tuesday and Thursday starting October 6th and ending October 29th. Each seminar will be two hours long. Participants are expected to attend every seminar.

Audience

New and experienced senior-level state, territory, and tribal pesticide program managers with direct responsibility for the implementation of their agency's pesticide program, policies, and reporting.


Course Goal

To provide participants with an opportunity to acquire, strengthen, and share leadership and management skills while engaging in high level discussions on emerging issues, policy, planning, and communication.

Seminar topics include:
Mastering virtual communication
Communicating science decisions to the public
Fostering communication with other agencies
Mapping out your team's strengths
Building your influence skills to increase program support
Leading through crisis
Emotional Intelligence
Envisioning the future for PREP

Seminars will include relevant case studies to help you apply leadership and management skills to navigate key emerging pesticide regulatory issues.

Nominations

Nominations must be submitted electronically. It is best to prepare your justification for selection before starting your nomination application. To complete the nomination process, please refer to the nomination announcement.

Nominations for the Senior Executive Program Management course open July 27, 2020 and close August 14, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). The PREP Team will make selections no later than August 28, 2020 based on how closely the nominees conform to the target participant criteria and why the training is essential to their job responsibilities.
