The collection represents most orders of insects with a strong coverage of Rocky Mountain and southwestern species.<\/p>\n<p>We house <a href=\"https:\/\/agsci.colostate.edu\/agbio\/gillette-museum\/holdings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holdings<\/a> of national importance in the aquatic insects, as well as orders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lepidoptera &#8211; butterflies and moths<\/li>\n<li>Diptera &#8211; flies, gnats and former Center for Disease Control mosquito collection<\/li>\n<li>Hymenoptera &#8211; ants, bees, wasps and relatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Unique Holdings<\/h3>\n<p>The Collection houses 83 primary types and more than 2,000 secondary types.
