[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The\u00a0Hemp Insect Website<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is designed to provide hemp producers a way to recognize and to better understand the insects, mites, and other \u201cbugs\u201d that are present when this crop is grown in North America.<\/p>\n

The goals of the Hemp Insect Website are to: (1) Provide description of all insects and mites observed in production of hemp; (2) Provide information on the habits of all insects that are associated with hemp production.<\/p>\n

In this start-up form (2017), the Hemp Insect Website is giving particular attention to insects and mites that are present within the western region of the United States.\u00a0 Furthermore, you will see that there is presently a particular focus on what is present in Colorado, as preliminary surveys have been made in this state in 2015-2016.\u00a0 However, as the goal of this website is to provide progressively more comprehensive treatment of insects associated with hemp production, submission of photos and inquiries about insects observed on hemp from anywhere in the United States are also encouraged.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0This website is limited to insect issues involving hemp, defined as\u00a0Cannabis<\/em>\u00a0grown for seed, fiber, or non-THC pharmaceutical products.\u00a0\u00a0This is not a forum for marijuana<\/em>. Industrial hemp means a plant of the genus Cannabis and any part of the plant, whether growing or not, containing a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of no more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis.<\/p>\n
