Graduate Studies in Horticulture<\/h1>\n

Application Review<\/h2>\n

Applications will not be reviewed and qualified applicants cannot be accepted without a faculty advisor who has agreed to mentor applicants through their degree program.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Identifying and contacting a faculty advisor in your area of interest for M.S. Plan A and B and Ph.D. programs is required.<\/P><\/p>\n

GRA\u2019s are not automatically offered upon admission and are not guaranteed<\/strong> to all accepted graduate students. Prospective students must discuss and arrange this with the faculty who has agreed to be their advisor before<\/u> the student signs the offer letter. A GRA might not be offered at all and in that case it is up to the student to decide if they want to move forward with self-funding their graduate program. A graduate teaching assistantship may be offered for a couple of semesters, but this is also not guaranteed<\/strong> and cannot be relied on to fund a student’s entire graduate program.<\/P><\/p>\n

To find out if there are any GRAs available, it is the prospective graduate student\u2019s responsibility to contact individual faculty in the department whose research is of interest, to ask if they\u2019re accepting new graduate students and if they are able to offer a GRA.<\/P><\/p>\n
