Can we grow greener plants while saving water? Can AI help us do that better? Will there be any difference in the produce at the end of the season?<\/p>\n<h3>The Experiment Design<\/h3>\n<p>Across urban ag locations in Colorado\u2019s Front Range (Denver area to Fort Collins) we are working together to run an experiment with potted tomato plants. One is watered using sensor technology and a live urban farmer, while the other uses the same sensor technology and AI.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1718137584012{background-color: #f1f1f1 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1718141448189{border-top-width: 3px !important;border-right-width: 3px !important;border-bottom-width: 3px !important;border-left-width: 3px !important;background-color: #f1f1f1 !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How It Works<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A microcontroller (tiny computer) reads soil sensors 24\/7. When soil moisture gets too low, it automatically turns on a small pump and applies the perfect amount of water without waste.
