Research Interests:
Zach Johnson brings over two decades of experience in the Green Industry to the Landscape Design & Contracting and Landscape Business programs at Colorado State University. Zach first became interested in construction and plants while in high school but never thought it would lead to a career. He began researching educational opportunities and was glad to find that he could combine those elements into a profession. His career has provided opportunities to work in the design, construction and management of landscapes and gardens. His expertise in is in residential and small scale commercial design emphasizing sustainable construction techniques. Zach has traveled throughout the nation and internationally with students from the programs. Zach earned his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Horticulture from CSU and a Masters of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. In addition to his responsibilities at CSU, he also owns Green Ink Designs, LLC. He is also an at-large director for the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado and participates on numerous committees. Zach is a licensed landscape architect and holds multiple industry certifications.
