Research Interests

Plants can sense changes in their environment like increasing temperatures or reduced access to light and water. Additionally, they can detect their neighbors, including other plants or microbes. All these factors are able to alter a plant’s growth and development, changing its biomass and yield.

We are interested in understanding the signaling mechanisms that are utilized by plants to respond and adapt to their changing physical and living environment. To unravel these signaling processes, we apply genetic, biochemical, microscopic, and genomic approaches.
