Where is your hometown?
Jerry was raised on a farm and ranch that is 7 miles from the Southwestern Colorado Research Center.
Neeta was raised in Pleasant View on a bean farm just 5 miles from the research center.
What do you like most about your job?
Jerry went to work for the research center in 1997 part time and worked into a full time position. He enjoys planting and watching the crops grow. Harvesting and stacking hay in the barn is a satisfying feeling! Has met a lot of interesting people in the past 22 years.
Neeta went to work at the research center in 2011. She loves the people that come to the center and enjoys all the people in the CSU family.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
We love to ride horses in the mountains, camp and fish. The mountains are a passion we share. Jerry loves to read in the winter. Neeta loves her horses and singing is her passion.
Where is your favorite place to eat?
We love to eat Mexican food, drink a nice margarita or beer on tap!
What’s one thing people would be most surprised to learn about you?
Neeta: I was in the Western Music Association for 5 years and Treasurer of the Southwestern Colorado Chapter. I made a CD in 2009 of western and classic country songs. The song I wrote on the CD was nominated for song of the year, but sadly another awesome singer/songwriter won. What an experience it was! One of my favorite things in life has been singing. Going to talent shows, etc. My friends and I have entertained for many local functions.
What do you do when you aren’t working?
We sold our farm/ranch in spring of 2020 and are ready to take more time to play on the weekends.
