Agribusiness and Food Innovation Management

The Agribusiness and Food Innovation Management program at Colorado State University offers a masters degree or certificate in business management, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to launch new businesses, new products, or new technologies, with a focus on agriculture and the food and beverage industries. The program offers companies an opportunity to engage a team of students on a business development or innovation challenge.

We offer this program in person at the new CSU Spur campus in Denver. However, student enrollment is managed by CSU Online. Additional program and admissions information for prospective students can be found on the program page at CSU Online.

  • Core concepts and skills essential to innovation and entrepreneurship: how to identify and validate new opportunities, how to create a vision for what is possible and communicate the value proposition, how to build support and turn the vision into reality.
  • Deeper understanding of the complex structure and interrelationships that make up today’s agriculture and food industries and where opportunities for innovation may be found, ranging from farm inputs and resource management, all the way to consumer products, and beyond.
  • Foundational business concepts and skills, including business economics, marketing, accounting and finance, intellectual property, legal and regulatory, with an explicit focus on agriculture and food industries.
  • A professional identity as an entrepreneur, innovator, or “change maker” within the industry: understanding how skills and personal strengths can be combined most effectively with others who bring different talents to a creative business development or startup team.
