Impact of Pulse Crops on Soil Health

The goal of this project is to quantify how incorporating legumes into maize rotations affects soil health. Specifically, we are evaluating different soil fertility management strategies like manure vs. fertilizer, and legume residue incorporation on crop production, N fixation, and soil health. Pulses include:

• cowpea
• lablab
• common bean
