Research Vision
The Temple Grandin Equine Center is the pre-eminent global leader of research related to the incorporation of horses to benefit people and its dissemination.
Research Mission
The Temple Grandin Equine Center advances the science of incorporating horses to benefit people through three phased tracks of rigorous scientific inquiry: 1) systematic review research, 2) research of occupational therapy in an equine environment for children with autism, and 3) research of equine-assisted learning for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The TGEC initiates new areas of research as societal issues related to human-horse interactions emerge, and is fundamentally committed to realizing mutually beneficial human-horse partnerships.
