Dr. Daniel Mooney is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University. His research, teaching, and outreach program focuses on production economics and agricultural business management. He teaches courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels related to applied production and cost analysis and agricultural business management, respectively. Recent projects and topics of interest include economic evaluations of emerging cropping systems and practices (e.g., hemp, bioenergy, pest control, soil management), agricultural water management and transfers, farm and ranch financial management, and value-added livestock grazing and handling systems. Prior to joining Colorado State University, he gained experience in domestic and international agriculture through work, research, and educational opportunities in Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan, Panama, and Ecuador. His position split is 25% research, 35% teaching, 30% extension, and 10% service and outreach.
