Colorado Wheat Field Days Schedule

Colorado Wheat Field Days are scheduled to take place at a limited number of locations in eastern Colorado (due to COVID-19). Producers and other ag industry professionals are invited to come and see new public and private varieties in the trials and hear up to date information on diseases, insects, wheat research, and other issues of concern. The final schedule is as follows:

Friday, June 12
– Brandon 10am (Burl Scherler Farms, Kiowa County)
– Burlington 1pm (Barry Hinkhouse Farms, Kit Carson County)

Monday, June 15
– Roggen 4pm (Cooksey Farms, Weld county)

Tuesday, June 16
– Julesburg 1pm (Carlson Farms, Sedgwick county)
– Yuma 4pm (Andrews Brothers Farms, Yuma county)

If you were not able to attend an in-person field day, CSU Crops Testing put together a virtual option for wheat field days. Several videos may be accessed from the following link –  bit.ly/37J5B6w.

Wheat Quality Evaluation

Each year our program evaluates grain samples for a variety of different end-use quality characteristics. These samples originate from the CSU Dryland and Irrigated Variety Performance Trials, the Pacific Northwest and Hard Winter Wheat Quality Councils, and samples from our own breeding nurseries.
