Taylor Bennett
Academic Success Coordinator
Agricultural and Resource Economics
Biography
Taylor received a Bachelor of Science in Climate Science from Oregon State University. While pursuing that degree she developed a passion for teaching others in her role as an Education Coordinator with the university’s sustainability department. In this position she worked with a variety of campus and community organizations, professors, and other departments to host an array of learning experiences for students on campus.
After graduating with her degree and moving to Colorado in 2018, Taylor took her excitement for teaching to the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, CO where she worked in exhibit education and daily program delivery. During that time Taylor was also pursuing a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, which she obtained in 2021. At that point she transitioned from informal education to the classroom where she taught high school science including classes in physics, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and environmental science for grades 9-12. She worked primarily with students from marginalized communities to provide equal opportunities for a quality high school experience.
Through her time teaching in high school classrooms Taylor realized that her true passion lies in higher education, helping college students pursue their own unique passions. This desire to drive student success in a more rigorous atmosphere led her to this position at CSU in 2023. Taylor is thrilled to be a part of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics and hopes she can help students find success in their degree programs and get the most out of their time at CSU.
