Biography
I am presently serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the San Luis Valley Research Center, Colorado State University, where my research focuses on advanced molecular diagnostics of plant pathogens, with a primary emphasis on potatoes and other economically important crops. My expertise encompasses the identification and in-depth analysis of key pathogens affecting potatoes, including Fusarium, Pythium, Phytophthora, Alternaria, Colletotrichum, Verticillium, and Pectobacterium spp. My diagnostic approaches combine classical techniques such as morphological characterization with advanced molecular methods, including PCR, qPCR, multigene sequencing, and bioinformatics. In addition to my potato work, I have extensive experience diagnosing fungal and bacterial pathogens in barley. My research also includes evaluating synthetic and biological products for disease management through comprehensive greenhouse and field trials to ensure robust and reliable results.
