Biography
I am a Postdoctoral researcher fellow under Dr. Temple Grandin at Colorado State University. In my current role, I am responsible for conducting a study named “Complete welfare assessment of horses used in equine-assisted services (EAS)”. I have a Ph.D. degree in Animal Science earned in 2023 from the Federal University of Paraná, in Curitiba, Brazil. In 2021 I received a scholarship funded by the Brazilian Government that allowed me to come to the United States and I spent nine months working as a visiting scholar and teaching assistant at Colorado State University.
I have been conducting research in animal behavior, nutrition, and welfare since 2016, when I first became a graduate student. I am the first author of four peer-reviewed publications and worked several years with equine behavior in Brazil and in the USA.
