Biography
Bishal Bista is a Ph.D. student in Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University. His research focuses on agricultural sustainability, risk management, and production economics, with particular emphasis on livestock systems, crop insurance markets, and invasive species impacts on agriculture. His work integrates economic theory, econometrics, and interdisciplinary collaboration to examine how producers respond to environmental risks, technological innovations, and policy incentives.

Bishal’s current research includes analyzing producer adoption of methane-mitigating feed additives in beef production systems, evaluating the economic impacts of invasive wild pigs on crop insurance outcomes, and studying the structure and incentives within U.S. crop insurance markets. His work aims to inform policies and management strategies that improve the resilience and sustainability of agricultural systems.

Originally from Nepal, Bishal received his M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Tennessee. He plans to pursue an academic career focused on research, extension, and teaching in agricultural and resource economics.
