Biography
Miranda Zuvich is pursuing her Ph.D. in Animal Science with a focus in Animal Breeding and Genetics. She is working under Drs. Scott Speidel and Mark Enns. While interested in all sectors of animal agriculture, her focus is primarily on beef cattle. For her master’s thesis, she investigated the heritability of liver abscesses in beef on dairy cattle and the effects of liver abscesses on carcass traits. In her undergraduate career at CSU, she estimated genetic parameters for feet and leg traits in Simmental cattle. In addition to her research, Miranda is passionate about supporting student success. She is committed to helping students not only master core concepts in animal breeding and genetics but also achieve their broader academic and professional goals.
