Biography
Felipe Barreto da Silva received his B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. He earned his M.S. in Plant Protection from São Paulo State University, where he focused on plant virology, and continued in the same program to complete his Ph.D., specializing in virus–vector interactions. Following his Ph.D., he joined the University of Florida as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Entomology.
Currently, as a Research Scientist at Colorado State University, Felipe’s work focuses on understanding the genetic diversity of wheat stem sawfly and its parasitoid populations, as well as their compatibility and implications for pest management. His research is supported by the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee and the Colorado Wheat Research Foundation.
