Biography
Davida is pursuing a Master's of Science Degree in Animal Science with a focus on livestock behavior and welfare, under supervision of Dr. Edwards-Callaway. Her research focuses on the welfare of fed cattle during transport, specifically the relationship between space allowance and meat outcomes.
Davida earned her Bachelor's of Science from Virginia Tech in Agricultural Education and Extension, and spent much of her time working in the Virgina Tech Meat Lab. After graduation, she worked for Virginia Cooperative Extension at Virginia State University, operating a Small Ruminant Mobile Processing Unit and supporting both extension programming and undergraduate teaching.
She is excited to learn research techniques and contribute to advancing welfare in the meat industry.
