Biography
Pablo Pinedo, MV, PhD is a Professor in Dairy Systems Management in the Department of Animal Sciences, at Colorado State University and currently serves as Department Director of Graduate Programs. Dr Pinedo’s research is mostly completed in commercial dairies, including organic-certified farms, exploring the interrelationships between cattle health and wellbeing, overall performance, and system sustainability.
A substantial portion of his research focuses on evaluating novel management strategies to improve animal welfare and prevent and detect disease early. He uses innovative technologies to monitor behavioral, physiological, and performance variables that can help prevent or reduce losses related to illness.
He obtained his Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Chile and his PhD from the University of Florida. Subsequently, he completed the Residency Program at the University of Florida's Food Animal and Reproduction Medicine Service. Before his arrival at Colorado State University, Dr. Pinedo was an Assistant Professor of Ruminant Health at Texas A&M University.
