Hal Johnson founded Hal Johnson’s HR Associates in 2013 after retiring as the chairman, Global Human Resource Practice for Korn Ferry, the world’s leading executive recruiting and talent assessment and leadership development firm for more than 10 years, based in New York City. He served as a senior advisor on a number of Human Resource topics, practice management, etc.
Hal Johnson’s HR Associates provides HR and talent solutions to major companies around the globe. Unique in his industry, Johnson has specialized in human resources for more than four decades.
He joined Korn Ferry from another leading executive search firm, where he also served as chairman of that organization’s global HR practice. Prior to his 20 years in major leadership roles in the executive search business, Johnson held the top HR position for three major corporations: Cigna (formerly INA), Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s), and the Travelers Companies, where he was also responsible for corporate administration.
Johnson has held leadership positions with the Association of Executive Search Consultants, The HR Policy Association, The Business Roundtable, The Conference Board, The HR Roundtable, and the Human Resources Planning Society, among others. He also served on the committee at McKinsey & Company that produced the widely recognized “The War for Talent” report. He resides in Fort Collins, Colo.
