Plant Growth Facilities

The Plant Growth Facilities are always blooming with new research and ideas. We are an Institutional Core Research Facility, managed by the Agriculture Experiment Station. Our facility houses over 60,000 square feet of research space including greenhouses, growth and biocontainment chambers, teaching greenhouses, classrooms, and of course, a conservatory.

Watch CSU’s Rare Corpse Flower Bloom for the First Time

The Corpse Flower bloomed at the CSU Plant Growth Facilities over the Memorial Day weekend. This rare phenomenon occurred after the plant sat dormant for 8 years.

More than 8,600 visitors came to see the bloom and numerous research staff and faculty used the occasion to advance their studies and work.

Research Facilities

We pride ourselves in the breadth and diversity of the work we do at the PGF. Our staff includes 40 faculty and primary investigators, 250 research and support staff, and 300 undergraduate students all working in our facility. We represent 5 different colleges and study plant material ranging from Wheat, Salt Grass, Arabidopsis, to Hemp. The Conservatory serves our public and our lab courses with an extensive tropical and desert plant collection.

  • PGF Orientation Training
  • Worker Protection Standard Training
