Having enjoyed a diverse 40-year career with Deloitte LLP Sandy retired as a Senior Partner in June 2018. He has been a financial statement auditor across multiple industries and served in numerous leadership roles, including Lead Client Service Partner, advising largecap and private companies on critical business issues; Regional Leader, for the startup of the Technology, Media, & Telecom practice; Denver Managing Partner, and National Facilitator for Deloitte’s cutting-edge executive transition labs. In November 2018, Sandy joined the Board of Directors of Houston Wire & Cable (NASDAQ: HWCC) serving on the Audit Committee (Chair) and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Sandy’s career has focused on business innovation, growth, and new market development initiatives. Hallmarks include the build out and successful launch of Deloitte’s Technology, Media, & Telecom practice in Texas and Colorado. He also led the Denver practice during its significant growth and has worked with global F500 companies on enterprise strategies helping to expand their products, global footprint, and improved operations. He has significant Food and Beverage industry experience including beer, packaging, meat processing, grain and dairy products.
Sandy is on the Board of Junior Achievement – Rocky Mountain Inc. (past chairman and treasurer); Board of Trustees of the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America (V.P. fiscal affairs, audit committee); and served on the Board of Trustees of the Denver Botanic Gardens (audit committee chair). In 2017, he received the Gold Award from Junior Achievement, its highest national award for volunteers.
Sandy is a CPA and graduate of Oklahoma State University (Accounting & Finance). He has been married for 40 years and has two children and three grandchildren. Sandy recently purchased Whistling Hare Distillery, a craft distillery in Westminster, Colorado. He also serves as a member of the Corporate Council for Inclusion and Diversity for the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University.
