I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. Originally from West Texas, I moved to northern Colorado when I was 12 years old and have never looked back. My wife is a kindergarten teacher at Harris Elementary and my son just completed his first year at CSU. I enjoy fishing, reading, art, hunting, laughing, and getting to know people’s stories.
I have 14 years of experience working in higher education. I have a master’s in educational leadership with an emphasis on Higher Education and Student Affairs and completing my Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership. My academic and professional journey is founded on advocacy for access and support for underrepresented students in higher education with a continual drive to enhance student success.
My role on the team is to help develop programs that provide support for students throughout their college experience and promote our efforts in creating a dynamic and welcoming environment. Some of my roles are:
- Project Lead – The Semilla Project with Spur campus
- Advisor to MANRRS – Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences
- United in STEMM Representative for CAS
- Interim Advisor to the National Society of Leadership and Success
I am always open to new ideas that promote community. If you have thoughts about programs, activities, workshops, etc. that we can bring to CAS, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for your hard work and sacrifice.
