As Colorado navigates one of the driest, warmest years on record, residents have concerns about drought and its effect on their daily lives. And for many Coloradans, the BIG question is already being asked: What will this weird weather do to the annual crop of Palisade peaches?

“It’s going to be a very early season – even earlier than last year,” said Ioannis Minas, associate professor of pomology (the science and art of fruit-growing) at Colorado State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences. “We still have a long way to go, but everything right now is pointing toward an early harvest.”
