Pre-Sale Event
Friday, Dec. 6, 6–8:30 p.m. (Remarks at 7:30 p.m.)
Be the first to shop this year’s poinsettias at our exclusive Pre-Sale Event! Guests will:
- Learn about this year’s poinsettia varieties and the program behind them.
- Meet the horticulture students who raised the plants as part of their coursework.
- Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages while supporting student research.
Tickets: $75 (Includes one poinsettia, two beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and the opportunity to purchase up to five additional poinsettias before the public sale.) Tickets are available on EventBrite.
Proceeds from the sale and pre-sale benefit the Poinsettia Trials Program and horticulture students’ hands-on learning and research activities.
A Hands-On Student Learning Experience
This event supports upper-level College of Agricultural Sciences students in the floriculture concentration, who grow the poinsettias from cuttings to finished plants as part of a semester-long practicum course. Students gain experience in vital plant care skills like nutrition, pest management, and environmental control, including the precise manipulation of light exposure to ensure holiday blooms.
Visit the CSU Horticulture Center
The poinsettias are grown at the CSU Horticulture Center, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing student education and research. Proceeds from the sale directly fund future hands-on learning experiences for horticulture students.
We look forward to seeing you at this cherished holiday tradition!
