For nearly 100 years, the Colorado Seed Laboratory has been your source for excellence and reliability in seed testing. This tradition is carried on today by our hard working, forward thinking, and well trained staff. We take pride in meeting your seed testing needs and our goal is to meet and exceed your expectations every time.

What Does a Seed Lab Do?

A seed lab uses multiple scientific instruments and procedures to test elements of seeds like purity, germination, inspection and analysis, and certification.

How to Submit Seeds for Testing or Certification

1. Browse Our Services and Pricing Lists

We offer several analytical services. Please note the minimum sample size for each seed and test type. Do you need a specialized test? If you can’t find it on our listings, feel free to reach out. 

2. Complete Your Forms

There are two types of forms, one for tests and another for certifying seed. Be sure to completely and accurately fill out the forms. If you are a hemp grower, we require you to complete a separate form. 

3. Prepare and Ship Your Sample

Get instructions on how to properly submit your sample. Remember, each test requires a different sample size. Be sure to submit enough sample for us to complete all your tests. Reach out to us with your questions.
