Eastern Colorado Research Center

The ECRC began as a 3,760-acre ranch in 1952. After CSU purchased the ranch, we have built it into a research facility boasting over 35 fenced pastures of native and seeded rangeland. We have enclosed working facilities including bunk space, chutes and scales and 22 feedlot pens for managing livestock research.

Research and Engagement

Historically, we have been engaged in beef cattle reproduction and nutrition research. Our contributions include numerous nutrition studies on reproductive health and optimizing performance on grazing and animal productivity. We work closely with CSU’s Department of Animal Sciences and industry partners to share our findings with regional and multi-state cattle producers. We welcome visitors to tour our facility and discuss our research programs.
