Audience
Managers and experienced staff who work under a FIFRA Cooperative Agreement.
Course Goals
To enhance participants’ ability to meet the present challenges of regulating pesticide use where humans live, work, and play. To increase knowledge about pests, vector-borne diseases, non-target exposure, and effective communication about the risks and benefits of pesticide use.
Information to be covered in this course includes:
- challenges with application techniques and devices
- pest management in areas where people live, work, and play
- risk communication and public perception of pesticides
- the intersection of pesticides, people, and public health
Nomination and Participants
Nominations
Nominations must be submitted electronically. It is best to prepare your justification for selection before starting your nomination application. To complete the nomination process, please refer to the nomination announcement.
Nominations for the Structural and Public Health Pests course open February 24, 2022 and close March 31, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). The PREP Team will make selections no later than April 14, 2022 based on how closely the nominees fit the target audience and why the training is essential to their job responsibilities.

EPA Participants
EPA Participants are responsible for reserving their own flights and ground transportation. Please plan to arrive on Sunday, June 12 and depart on Friday, June 17. The PREP team has reserved hotel rooms for EPA participants; however, EPA participants are responsible for paying for their own room prior to the start of the course. EPA participants must also pay a registration fee of $200.
