Each program offers something unique so that students can find what energizes them and inspires them to create a future they want to live in.

Agricultural Biology

Protecting our natural world and food supply starts at the source. Examine and develop natural and biological solutions to wicked problems like pest and pathogen management, so growing our food remains sustainable and farmers continue to see successful harvests.

Agriculture & Resource Economics

From farm to table, you’ll gather all the skills necessary to help farmers get their crops into a market while navigating economic realities and sustainable practices so that future generations can continue to grow and eat nutritious food.

Animal Sciences

The well-being of animals is critical to the success of farmers and the health of our food. With world-class experts and state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll learn how to keep livestock healthy, happy, and manage the process of life and production from start to finish with confidence.

Horticulture & Landscape Architecture

Beautiful and natural landscapes improve the health of our communities. Learn how to design, shape, and maintain these landscapes while respecting the environment around them and innovating to provide spaces that stand the test of time so future generations can enjoy them.

Soil & Crop Sciences

The nutritional value of our food starts with the health of our soil. Learn how to help our soil stay healthy and regenerate the things necessary to ensure that farmers can grow their crops with confidence and our communities can continue to grow.

Finances and Scholarships

We are proud to award more than $1.4 million annually in scholarships to our AgSci students. Over 550 of our students get scholarship financial support made possible by our generous donors.  They understand the value of investing in you as a vital part of sustaining agriculture and our collective future.

 

Who is Eligible

Current and future students can apply for scholarships by completing the CSU Scholarship Application. Opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students are available.

Your single application via the CSUSA allows you to apply for every scholarship you qualify for. Our faculty selection committee pairs your application with all available scholarships. When submitting your CSUSA, be sure to complete all sections including the general section and all recommended opportunities. This will ensure you qualify for as many opportunities as you can.

Join Our Traditions

Originally Colorado Agricultural & Mechanical, CSU has been the home of the “Aggies” since 1870. Years later, in 1957, CSU expanded into the university we know today. As a foundational part of the university, the College of Agricultural Sciences and its traditions remain a defining part of our students’ development during their time here.
We take pride in our festivities and the ways that we continue to connect students to our institution’s heritage, while also inviting them to bring their own unique flare and innovation to the table. Come and join us in celebrating our Aggie heritage!

 

 

Ag Week

Join us for events, games, and activities all around CSU’s campus that highlight our connection to agriculture. Each department showcases their research, student involvement, and innovations during this weeklong celebration, attracting Rams far and wide, new and old, to celebrate and experience CSU’s ag tradition.

Ag Day

Ag Day is one of CSU’s largest celebrations of the year! A day-long BBQ supported by local producers, capped off with a football game, Ag Day draws Rams from across Colorado and the country to gather round, remember the heritage of CSU, and celebrate. Friends, family, alumni, and – most importantly – YOU are all invited to join us in this iconic celebration.

A longstanding CSU, Denver, and Colorado tradition – the National Western Stock Show attracts people far and wide for a weekend of activities, including demonstrations, auctions, and festivities around the livestock that make our world go round. Learn more about CSU’s involvement.

A part of the Seedstock Merchandising course, our annual Bull Sale allows students to get hands on experience in the world of animal auctions and sales by letting them choose, prep, and design merchandising materials before the big event hosted at CSU’s Agricultural Research Development and Educations Center

A day dedicated to the showmanship and research surrounding equine sciences and specimen. Students join us for the day showcasing their equine research, sportsmanship, and hosting an auction of some of the finest horses in Northern Colorado.

Trial Garden Annual Evaluation

Held at the end of every growing season, the Trial Garden Annual Evaluation is a chance for Rams far and wide to admire the beauty of the new varieties of plants that have been painstakingly developed by research partners and grown here at CSU before the season ends.

All good things must come to an end, but here the end is just the beginning! At the end of the year we come together to celebrate our Rams who cross the finish line to earn their diplomas as they ready themselves to start the next journey of their lives.

What is it like to live in Fort Collins?

Located in northern Colorado, Fort Collins is nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains and offers exciting recreational opportunities, unique cultural offerings, and is a regional center for employment and shopping. How can I pay for college?

Often one of the big challenges for students and parents is planning a way to pay for college. The Office of Financial Aid at Colorado State University offers a variety of financial aid and scholarship resources for students and their parents.

What are student financial services?

The Office of Financial Aid includes information on the cost of attending CSU; a budget calculator; an overview of scholarships, grants and loans; student employment opportunities, work study; and more.

Where can I find scholarships?

By completing the CSU Scholarship Application, you are applying for all scholarships in the College of Agricultural Sciences at the same time. An alphabetical list of all College of Agricultural Sciences scholarships is available to review. Thanks to the generosity of many alumni and friends, the College of Agricultural Sciences awards more than $1 million in scholarships annually. These scholarships recognize outstanding academic achievement, and leadership, as well as provide crucial financial support to our students. Scholarships range in value from five hundred to several thousand dollars.

What is the college opportunity fund?

The College Opportunity Fund provides state-tax dollars to colleges and universities on behalf of eligible undergraduate students. The Fund was created by an Act of the Colorado State Legislature in May 2004 to heighten aCOFsmallawareness that state tax dollars are used to offset the costs of undergraduate education.

Life in Fort Collins

One can’t think of CSU without also thinking about it’s home in Fort Collins. Fort Collins offers the perfect balance between city and country, having a population of ~200,000 while having notable natural features like the Pouder Canyon, Horsetooth Reservoir, and Lory State Park all within a 20 minute drive. There is no shortage of local events around the city, with notable music festivals, open mic nights, restaurants, and so much more all within walking distance of the campus.You’ll find that calling Fort Collins home will become natural from the moment you visit!
