National Western Stock Show

A Part of Colorado’s Agricultural Legacy Since 1906

For more than 100 years, the National Western Stock Show has been the premier livestock, rodeo, and horse show. The College of Agricultural Sciences has been a key part of NWSS since its inception, and every year students and faculty travel to Denver to take part. The event showcases agricultural innovations and research, and fosters a legacy of excellence in agriculture and livestock industries.

2026 Colorado State University Plant Adaptation Symposium

Our theme “Interdisciplinary Frontiers of Complexity” captures vignettes of cutting-edge interdisciplinary research–from computational modeling to empirical experimentation–that dissect complexity across scales important to agriculture. Join us to explore scales of complexity through study systems spanning plant genetics, agroecology, and global genetic evolution. Students and scientists are also encouraged to take part in the poster presentation for the chance to win awards. We are also excited to break down the complexities of transferring plant science research into applied agricultural technologies and food systems through a panel discussion with policy and intellectual property experts.

CAS Graduate Student and Post-doc Research Showcase

The CAS Graduate Student and Post-doc Research Showcase highlights innovative research from graduate students and post-doctoral scientists. This annual event provides a platform to present research, network with peers, and gain recognition through judged poster sessions. It fosters collaboration and celebrates the contributions of early-career researchers in agricultural sciences.

Colorado Agrivoltaic Conference

Building Community & Forward Momentum

Join us February 19–20, 2026, at Colorado State University’s Spur Campus in Denver for the inaugural Colorado Agrivoltaic Conference. Hosted by the Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center and presented by Colorado State University and the Rural Climate Partnership, this two-day event convenes leaders to advance agrivoltaics through collaboration, learning, and networking, with facilitation by CDR Associates and support from the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

CAS/AES Awards

Part of building a strong community and lasting Ag Family legacy is celebrating outstanding individuals who are dedicated to our land grant mission and agricultural legacy. We celebrate our Award Recipients with a dedication and ceremony at the end of each Spring Semester.
